About Sheana Davis

A fourth generation Sonoma Valley native, Sheana Davis independently owns and operates The Epicurean Connection, a culinary marketing and education company focused on sustainable top-quality cheeses, brewing, and winemaking. With 20 years in the industry as a chef, caterer and culinary educator, Sheana’s passion for regionally based and sustainably grown foods radiates in every detail of her work.

A dynamic speaker educating consumers about top quality foods and sustainable agriculture, she attracts a clientele of top restaurants, caterers, gourmet retail outlets and wineries. Since its beginning in 1992, The Epicurean Connection has brought a number of well-regarded products to the national market: Franklin's Teleme, Straus Family Creamery, Redwood Hill Farm, Bellwether Farms, Matos St. George, Cowgirl Creamery, Achadinha, Sierra Nevada Cheese Company, Beehive Cheese Company, Tomales Bay Foods, Coturri Winery, and the Bison Brewing Company. In February of 2009, Sheana released through national distribution her first very own cheese, Delice de la Vallee, a blend of cow and goat milk cheese.

Since 1988, Sheana has had a love affair with New Orleans. She did her chef internship there in 1988 and that was the beginning of her traveling chef experience.

For 20 years, she has traveled as guest chef—both locally and nationally—hosting classes, seminars and culinary education, while featuring locally produced products including Parmelee-Hill Vineyards, David Noyes, Wellington Vineyards, Gundlach Bundschu, Bartholomew Park Winery, Benziger Winery, Moon Mountain Vineyards, Plumpjack, Three Sticks Vineyard, Lagunitas, Bison Brewing, Rogue Alehouse San Francisco, Rogue Alehouse Oregon, Oz Apple Farm and others.

Participating in speaking engagements regionally and nationally such as the American Cheese Society, Fancy Food Show East and West, Chamber of Commerce, New Hope Natural Media, Expo East, Expo West, Farmers’ Markets, GE Free California, GE Free Sonoma County, Napa Valley Wine Auction, New Orleans Food & Wine Experience, Sonoma County Winery Showcase, Sonoma Valley Wine Auction, and The Grange.

Sheana created and hosts the annual Sonoma Valley Cheese Conference, addressing industry issues with guests and speakers from around the country. The conference, which is a sell-out every year, is in its seventh season.

Her volunteer efforts include:
Sonoma Valley Education Foundation, current board member Springs Task Force, current member
Springs Town Hall Meetings, current host and founder
Sonoma Valley Chamber of Commerce, past board member Valley of the Moon AIDS Project, founder
Sonoma County Childcare Council, current board member Sonoma Valley Farmers Market, past board member

In 1993, Sheana was awarded the Community Organization Award from the California Human Development Corporation for volunteering efforts within the Sonoma Valley.

In 2007, The Epicurean Connection was awarded the Green Business award for Sonoma Valley.

Sheana is unquestionably the most dedicated and hard-working cheese marketer I know. She has a genuine love of the product, and this passion, combined with her ability to ‘talk cheeses’ with the public as well as the retailers, results in informed, enthusiastic buyers.” --
